My name is John Casey, Sr. I grew up in the Ozark Mountains of North Arkansas. I am married to Sandra and we have four children who are all grown and have homes of their own. From them, I have seven grandchildren, two boys and five girls. They are my pride and joy.
I came to know Jesus at the age of ten at home under the leadership of Dr. John Colbert on April19,1956. Dr. Colbert was conducting the Spring revival at the church in the community where I grew up. He was staying in our home during the revival and it was there that he led me to the Lord.
After graduation from high school in 1964, I enrolled in Arkansas Polytechnic College (now Arkansas Tech University) in Russellville, Arkansas. I also studied at Arkansas State University Community College in Mountain Home, Arkansas as well as The American College in Bryn Mar, Pennsylvania.
I surrendered to the gospel ministry in 1971 at Elmwood Baptist Church in Boone County, Harrison, Arkansas. I was also ordained to the ministry at Elm Wood after being called as pastor of Tomahawk Baptist Church in Searcy County, St. Joe, Arkansas. Since that time, I have pastored churches in Arkansas and Missouri as well as serving on the staff of First Baptist Church in Harrison, Arkansas as missions’ pastor and Second Baptist Church in Clarksville, Arkansas as associate pastor responsible for hospital/nursing home ministries as well as the education ministry of the church. I have also served as interim pastor of several churches in Arkansas. I have served in various positions in associational ministry in various associations where I have served as pastor of a local church.
My desire is to always preach messages that come from the very heart of God, reach people through personal evangelism and to minister to the needs of the church membership and the community. I believe that every man, woman, boy and girl has the right to hear the gospel message of salvation. My deepest desire is to be more like Jesus every day of my life and to share the message of salvation to someone every day.
I enjoy woodworking, hunting and fishing, as well as watching my grandchildren in their activities.
